COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers have arrested five men connected to the sexual assault of a woman in July.
The woman told officers she went for a walk around 1:30 a.m. July 21 when she saw two groups of men arguing. The woman got in the middle to calm them down and was later invited into the Woodside Lane apartment by one of the men.
When she went in, she saw the additional men around 20 years old. Officers said the woman talked with the men about the difficulties of living in a foreign country, which she said was similar to her situation. She also said she has a son about that age.
She was offered what she thought was lemonade. That's the last thing she said she remembered.
After collecting evidence and conducting interviews, officers arrested Samad Mohammed, Jasim Ramadon, Mustafa Feraji, Ali Juboori and Yasir Jasim. Mohammed and Ramadon will be charged with sexual assault and accessory, and the other three will be charged with accessory.
All five men are Iraqi nationals who were legally living in the U.S. All face possible deportation for felony sexual assault.
