Vandals set fire to GOP's Rep's signs in front of her house

Posted by billamos on September 3, 2012 at 1:50 PM

From WCVB in Boston:

In the words of Mass. State Rep. Keiko Orall, "This campaign is heating up in more ways than one."

Orall woke Sunday morning to find one of her campaign signs in her front yard burned.

Orall, a resident of Lakeville, is a Republican state representative for the 12th district in Bristol County.

"This is 2012, this is America," Orall told WCVB Monday. "We can't have this type of activity during campaigning."

Republican candidates (especially conservatives, and doubly so in "blue districts") should resign themselves to this sort of abuse, and likely far worse before this campaign is over. Heck, if R's win the Senate *and* the White House, and the rest of the country goes anything at all like the 2010 landslide, the resulting howls of anger, denial and frustration will doubtless continue well past the Inauguration in January.

It's a terribly sad state of American affairs that we should find ourselves here in the 21st century bracing for widespread bad behavior, civil disobedience and outright criminal acts, but denial on our part will do us no favors, now or in the future, which incidentally does not appear to me to be improving anytime soon... *sigh*
